It was totally fantastic when all of 10th grader of SMA N 3 Semarang joined live in kalilumpang program, 15 - 18 March 2009. Live in is a program where we have to stay for several days with a family in a different condition from we usually do. We can learn many things from live in program. I’ll tell my best experience when i was there.
i lived in a comfortable house with one of my friend , Yuanita . Our foster parents, Mr. Parju and Mrs. Kum, are both farmers. They have quiet big rice field, but they produce rice for themselves, not for sale. They have two daughters, Nita (10-years old) and Afifah (3-years old).
Monday, march 16th, is the first time for me to go to rice field. The views are amazing, but we had to pass a stony long road to reach the rice field. And when we arrived, WOW! That’s the only word I could say. I’ve never been to rice field before, so it’s really great! Yuanita and I were helping Mr. Kum to clean the rice field. in the afternoon, we got home and took a rest .
at around 4pm, mrs. kum took us to the backyard. there, she tell us how to plant a cassava . at the fist, it looked easy. but when i tried it, it so hard . not as easy as it looked. and then we took a bath. oh ya , the had a very simple bathroom, with half-body wall. haha . not really comfortable when you take a bath and there were ducks and chickens at your door.
that day was a very tiring day . but i got some important lesson. how hard is life, we have to be harder to pass it . like mr. parju and mrs. kum, they always do the best that they can do and they were very optimist.
