Day of children on Japan falls on May 5th. Previously this festival was intended for the boys, but now it also to respect the girls. On that day poles anchored in the garden of each house of the Japanese. From the poles were put up one or several kite-shaped open-mouthed fish. When the wind was blowing into the mouth of the fish, the fish body was blown up and floating with the wind. For the Japanese, the fish symbolizes such things as the strength and courage. During the rotation of its life, this fish swim upstream and leap over waterfalls to spawn. This shows the kind of strength and power is expected by Japanese parents to be had their children.
