The Differences Between Monaco and Indonesian Flag

Ya, I just wanna share what I know about this... I’m going to talking about flag. Maybe a lot of you already know about this.
Several people said that Indonesia is plagiarism. But I don’t think so.
For more details, here is the prologue :)

MONACO flag
The flag of Monaco has two equal sized horizontal stripes. The top stripe is red and the bottom stripe is white.

Red and white were the colors of the ruling Grimaldi family. The colors are patterned as a diamond shaped pattern on the shield of the family's coat of arms. Therefore Monaco’s flag meaning comes from this family who ruled Monaco.

The Monaco flag was enacted on April 4, 1881, making it one of the world's oldest flags. Prince Karl III instituted Monaco’s flag on that date in 1881. Monaco was granted independence from Italy on January 8, 1297, when the territory was recovered by the house of Grimaldi, a family of Italian origin, who established it as a principality. The Principality, with an area of 151 hectares, is the second smallest sovereign state in the world with the smallest being the Vatican. This flag of Monaco can be flown both nationally and civilly by its citizens.

Monaco's state flag, which has Monaco’s coat of arms on a white background, is flown at government offices, the Prince's palace, in the presence of government officials, and as an ensign on the Prince's yacht. There is also flown a Princely standard, however this flag is only flown in the Prince’s presence or on the car that he is traveling in.

The principality of Monaco, an enclave in south eastern France, is the second smallest state in the world after the Vatican. Monaco was a battleground in the Genoese civil wars between the Guelphs and Ghibellines. The Guelph Rainier Grimaldi conquered Monaco from the Ghibellines in 1297. From 1525 to 1641, Monaco was considered a protectorate of Spain. In 1641, Monaco became a protectorate of France. In 1793, France launched a coup against the Grimaldis and made Monaco a part of France. In 1815, Monaco became a protectorate of the Kingdom of Sardinia. In 1861, Monaco was granted independence under the watchful eye of France. Monaco grew in popularity with the opening of the Monte Carlo Casino in 1863. In 1956, Prince Rainier III married United States actress Grace Kelly. In 1993, Monaco became a part of the United Nations. Monaco has no income tax; therefore many super rich individuals choose to live there for that tax benefit.

INDONESIAN flag
The Indonesia flag is made up of two horizontal stripes of color. The top color is red, and the bottom color is white. The red represents the blood and the human body. The white symbolizes the soul and the spirit. When put together they make up the entire human body.

The Indonesian flag was enacted on August 17, 1945. The first flag of Indonesia was flown among Japanese occupation forces on the day Indonesia's independence was announced. However, the previous Dutch colonial rulers did not recognize Indonesian independence until December 27, 1949. In 1922 the Indonesia flag was used by activists seeking Indonesian independence from Dutch colonial rule and was later flown in 1928, by nationalists on the island of Java to represent the Indonesian campaign for independence. Indonesia’s flag is based on a banner believed to have been flown in the late 13th century by the Majapahit Empire. This flag can be flown both nationally and civilly by its citizens.

Indonesia has some very strict guidelines for the use and care of its flag. The Indonesian flag should never be allowed to drag along the ground as it disrespects the history of the flag and the history of Indonesia in general. When the flag is tattered or faded, that flag must be replaced with a new flag in a good condition. It is very important to ensure the flag always goes the correct way up, due to care and consideration. When in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, the flag should be destroyed respectful and dignified way, preferably by burning in private due to care and respect.

Based on the above explanation and some article from the internet which I read, we know that Indonesia didn't do plagiarism.
1. Before our independence day, our country didn’t know Monaco country.
2. Indonesian flag is not simply come from Dutch flag without its blue color.
3. There are differences of scale in terms of size flag:
     - Flag of Indonesia: Scale 2 versus 3 (2:3)

- Flag of Monaco: Scale 4 versus 5 (4:5)
4. What's important is that the Indonesian flag contains a deep philosophy about the people of Indonesia itself.
Actually, I actually wanted to write more about the history of the Indonesian flag, but because of time limit, I end up here. thank you for reading :)
